I would give the garment 9 out of 10. I think that this is my best piece so far. I think that it looks professional and something that I would definitely wear.

I think my shorts were ‘fashion’. I could definitely see them on a shop hanger.

I used a zip and a waist band you can tie.

       I would have made the waist band longer so it would be able to tie a bigger bow.

I would like to improve my sewing for next time, make my lines straighter. Although the fit was ok, I would like to try and make the shorts fit closer to the body (just a personal preference).

The material that I used was a very nice cotton.

I only used about half a metre.

The material cost £4 per metre.

I had a size 12 trousers block, I made my own pattern by shortening the legs and taking it in to fit me.

After making the blocks i traced out the pieces onto the fabrics and cut the pieces out. 

 I pinned the pieces together where necessary and then sewed them together.

I neatened the inside seams with pinking shears and sewed the sides together, and then put a zip in.

 I found that the shorts looked boring to i decided to add a waist band out of the red and black material.

I then pressed the folders on the leg of the shorts so that it would stay.

I found that the shorts I made reminded me of 50s swimsuit shorts because they are simple, high waisted with a tie around the waist.
