Week 29: Final Garment - Dress

                Material used:  Lycra and Chiffon

How well did it work as a garment?

I would give the garment 8 out of 10.

Is it fashion? If so why, if not why not?

I do believe this is fashion, especially with the chiffon sleeve, because sheer fabric are in fashion at the moment.

What opening did you use?

You just pull the dress over your head.

What were the problems?

I didn't want to hem the bottom of the dress because it would go stiff, like a previous dress I made

What could you do to improve next time?

I would like to find a different way to do seams with the chiffon fabric

What was the fabric?

The materials I used were Lycra and Chiffon.

How much did you use?

I used about a metre of Lycra and much less than a metre of the Chiffon.

How much did it cost?

The Lycra cost £3.50 per metre. And the Chiffon cost £2.50 per metre

Where was it sourced?

I got the fabrics from a market stall in Shepherd Bush Market

I really found that collecting all the different information for my reference file and collecting different fabrics for my fabric file was very helpful. Because I found so much new information, things that I didn't know before and things that I would never have thought of.

I really enjoyed this module because I can really see an  improvement on my making skill, found out what t o do and what not to do. And got a lot of inspiration from other members in the class.

Week 28 - Trousers shorts.

Week 28: Trousers #3 [Jumpsuit]

                Material used:  [Stretch] Denim.

How well did it work as a garment?

I would give the garment9.7 out of 10. I feel that this is one of the best garments I have made. 

Is it fashion? If so why, if not why not?
I do believe that this is fashion. I can see it in shops being sold in the summer.

What opening did you use?
I used a zip at the front.

What were the problems?
A problem I encountered first was when I sewed the shorts and top together the top didn't reach my bust, it can up to short. But I improved it and put in a waistband.

What could you do to improve next time?
Although I believe that what I made was very good, to improve I would make the bottom half a little looser and maybe improve the inside of the garment

What was the fabric?
The material that I used was stretch denim.

How much did you use?
I only used about a metre

How much did it cost?
The material cost £3.50 per metre. I bought 2 metre [£7.00]

Where was it sourced?
M.T Fabrics - Shepherd bush.
