Pleating!

We were visit by a man named Terry Weinhart from 'Cement Pleating'. He came and told us about the history of his pleating company and what kinds of pleating is done at his factory.

I then tried my own pleating, starting with the simple 'Box pleat'.

 

I then made my own pleating pattern.

I then had a go at the 'Diamond Pleat', which is found a little difficult so I did it on a small scale.

I then got some calico and fitted in the space and then pressed it with the iron.

I thought the outcome was not the best, better it was better than I had expected.

 

  

I found this pleated garment by Givenchym which I really liked because of the detailing on the chest and shoulders.
